Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Forward Deployed Software Engineer at Barclays in Pune will design, develop, and maintain next‑generation identity platform powering secure authentication across digital banking. The role focuses on building scalable microservices, REST APIs and applying AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery. You’ll collaborate with product owners, security specialists, and cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality, secure code and continuous integration.

• Design, develop, and improve software solutions for identity services
• Deliver high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable code
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to technical communities
• Adhere to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Go
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts (authentication, authorization, single sign‑on, identity federation)
• Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab CI, and Git
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools and practices
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code
