Java SQL Application Development - Vice President

The Application Development Tech Lead is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position responsible for architecting and building core platforms at Citi.

As a hands-on technical leader for one or more Scrum teams, you will serve as a key voice in architecture, drive innovation, influence system design, mentor engineers, and contribute directly to the codebase.

• Manage Application Development teams to accomplish established goals while handling core personnel duties.
• Provide technical oversight of systems and applications across multiple domains.
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions across projects.
• Contribute to the formulation of technical and architectural strategies.
• Monitor end-to-end delivery and manage day-to-day operations, including resource planning and work allocation.
• Ensure governance policies are followed and contribute to defining engineering standards.
• Explore and integrate modern AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery velocity and elevate code quality.

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in software design and development with deep expertise in Java technologies.
• In-depth experience with SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of system integration principles and practical experience implementing modern integration patterns like RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern infrastructure tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
