Software QA Wi-Fi Engineer

Join the MR Firmware Engineering team within Cisco’s Wireless Software Engineering Organization. The Quality team builds and runs software and hardware tests to ensure new releases meet the highest quality and reliability standards for millions of deployed wireless access points worldwide.

• Design and scale wireless testbed operations to test products and software before market launch
• Design and execute test plans to support next-generation Wi-Fi products and features
• Support firmware engineers in executing test cases, understanding test results, reproducing and investigating bugs
• Collaborate with Functional and Release engineers to plan release timelines for upcoming products and software releases
• Collaborate with Automation engineers to scale, improve and maintain testbed operations
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Hardware and Product Management teams to develop reliable and scalable testing processes
• Collaborate with Wi-Fi chipset vendors on a regular basis to troubleshoot and solve low-level Wi-Fi issues
• Own test topologies and testbeds from topology-diagram inception to production test in our release cycle

• BS/MS in Computer Networking, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi QA and testing technologies/tools
• Strong foundation in the fundamentals of computer wired and wireless networking (VLANs, DHCP, TCP, VoIP)
• Strong foundation of 802.11 wireless standards, RF, channels, and specs on 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz
• Proficiency in writing quality code with one of the programming or scripting languages in Ruby or Python
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI assistants (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) to streamline QA workflows, draft Wi-Fi test plans, and parse test results
• Experience with UI automation tools like Selenium or Cypress
