Java Applications Development Programmer Analyst

The Java Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level role focused on developing and enhancing application systems for Citi’s technology teams. The analyst participates in design, implementation, testing, debugging, and risk assessment of business applications, ensuring alignment with industry standards and compliance policies.

• Utilize applications development procedures and concepts to identify and define necessary application enhancements
• Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
• Apply knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
• Conduct testing and debugging, use script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
• Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
• Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, and client‑server application development
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in programming/debugging used in business applications
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Framework
• Knowledge of SQL
• Hands‑on experience with Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
