AWS Data Engineer focused on building scalable data solutions with a 70% emphasis on data engineering and 30% on DevOps. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Python-based data pipelines and cloud infrastructure on AWS, while ensuring optimal database performance across relational, columnar, and vector databases. The engineer will also contribute to capital markets initiatives, specifically Fixed Income instruments, and enhance CI/CD processes for reliable application delivery.
- Develop and deploy scalable applications and data solutions on AWS
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable Python code for data processing and automation
- Design, implement, and optimize relational, columnar, and vector databases
- Build and support data models, schemas, and data flows for capital markets use cases
- Contribute to DevOps activities including deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical and data requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, database, cloud, and deployment issues
- Review technical designs and recommend improvements for architecture and performance
- Apply secure development, access management, and data protection practices
- Optimize AWS resource usage for cost and sustainability
- Proven experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
- Strong professional Python development skills
- Extensive knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with columnar databases (Amazon Redshift) and data formats (Apache Parquet)
- Experience with vector databases
- Database design, schema optimization, and query tuning expertise
- Data engineering experience managing structured and semi-structured data flows
- DevOps skills supporting cloud deployments, CI/CD, and operational reliability
- Knowledge of capital markets, particularly Fixed Income instruments
- Understanding of software development best practices, testing, and documentation
