AWS Data Engineer – Python, Databases, Capital Markets & DevOps

Synechron seeks an AWS Data Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support scalable data solutions on AWS, focusing 70% on data engineering and 30% on DevOps. The role requires strong Python development, expertise in relational, columnar, and vector databases, and knowledge of capital markets, particularly Fixed Income instruments. Responsibilities include building data pipelines, optimizing database performance, automating CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring secure, reliable data delivery.

• Develop and deploy scalable applications and data solutions on the AWS cloud platform
• Write clean, efficient, reliable, and maintainable Python code for data processing, automation, and operational support
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize relational, columnar, and vector databases
• Build and support data models, schemas, data flows, and data warehouse structures for capital markets use cases
• Contribute to DevOps activities: deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure support, monitoring, and release processes
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical and data requirements, solution designs, and delivery priorities
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, database, cloud infrastructure, and deployment issues
• Review technical designs and recommend improvements to application architecture, database performance, cloud usage, and operational processes
• Apply secure development, access management, data protection, and operational control practices
• Support efficient use of AWS compute, storage, database, and data processing resources to promote cost and environmental sustainability

• Proven experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting applications and data solutions on AWS
• Strong Python programming skills for application development, data processing, and automation
• Extensive experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with columnar databases (Amazon Redshift) and columnar data formats (Apache Parquet)
• Experience working with vector databases
• Knowledge of database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and data modeling
• Experience in data engineering: managing data flows, structured and semi‑structured data
• DevOps skills: support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure support, monitoring, and release processes
• Knowledge of capital markets, including Fixed Income instruments and related financial concepts
• Understanding of software development best practices, design principles, testing, version control, and documentation
