Software Engineer

Join NatWest Digital X as a Software Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain secure, high‑performance solutions as part of a feature team. You’ll work closely with architects, business analysts, and other engineers to deliver code that meets customer needs and supports the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment and operations.

• Engineer and maintain innovative, customer‑centric solutions
• Produce complex and critical software rapidly and with high quality
• Work within permanent teams responsible for the full life cycle of software
• Collaborate to optimise software engineering capability
• Design, produce, test, and implement working code
• Engage across the life cycle: requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operations

• Background in software engineering, design, and architecture
• Experience with development and testing tools, bug tracking tools, and wikis
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages or low‑code toolsets
• Experience in DevOps, testing, and Agile methodology
• Strong analytical and numerical problem‑solving skills
• Experience implementing best practices for scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, and performance
