Software Engineer 2

Microsoft Devices Operations manages supply chains, product engineering, manufacturing, and services to deliver iconic products like Surface and Xbox. We are looking to hire a Software Engineer II to develop and operate next-generation, world-class services supporting global supply chains and product fulfillment.

• Own and deliver complex feature areas and large-scale solutions end-to-end, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, support, and long-term maintainability
• Lead architecture and design discussions, evaluate technical alternatives, and make informed design decisions
• Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, backend services, APIs, and cloud-native solutions
• Leverage AI and modern engineering tools responsibly across the SDLC to improve developer productivity and code quality
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, secure development practices, and technical mentorship
• Champion automation across development, testing, deployment, and operations by building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for critical services, leading incident response, mitigation, and long-term reliability initiatives
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, architects, business stakeholders, and partner teams

• 7+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing, building, and running Cloud services on a large scale using the .NET stack
• Familiarity with distributed systems and event driven architecture
• Experience building modern full-stack applications using .NET/C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Solid expertise in designing and developing scalable, loosely coupled, service-oriented architectures, including reusable libraries, SDKs, and platform components
• Hands-on experience building and operating RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems using SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent cloud ecosystems
• Experience with AI-based software development tools including but not limited to GitHub CoPilot, Visual Studio/VS Code Agent Mode
