Senior Software Engineer – Platform

Juspay is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build the payments orchestration platform that routes 50M+ daily transactions across UPI, cards, wallets, and BNPL for India's top merchants.

You will work in Haskell and PureScript on mission-critical financial systems, joining a team of elite engineers solving hard distributed systems problems in functional programming.

• Design and build payment routing and orchestration services in Haskell
• Own services end-to-end from development to production monitoring
• Drive reliability and correctness improvements in payment flows
• Conduct rigorous code reviews with a focus on correctness
• Mentor junior engineers on functional programming principles
• Contribute to Juspay open-source Haskell and PureScript projects

• 5+ years backend engineering experience
• Strong functional programming — Haskell, PureScript, Scala, or Erlang
• Distributed systems design and fault tolerance patterns
• PostgreSQL and Redis at scale
• Apache Kafka event-driven architecture
• Deep interest in type systems and correctness guarantees
• B.Tech/M.Tech from IIT/NIT or equivalent
