Senior Software Engineer – Fintech Core

Pine Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments Core team to build the transaction processing and merchant settlement systems handling 600M+ annual transactions across POS, e-commerce, and BNPL products.

You will own critical financial services infrastructure used by India's largest retailers including Reliance, Tata, and McDonald's.

• Design and build transaction processing and routing microservices
• Implement idempotent payment settlement APIs
• Build real-time merchant analytics and reconciliation systems
• Lead technical design reviews for payment core team
• Drive PCI-DSS compliance across payment infrastructure
• Participate in 24x7 on-call for payment-critical services

• 5+ years backend engineering experience
• Expert Java or Kotlin for high-throughput financial systems
• Distributed transaction management and idempotency patterns
• PostgreSQL and Redis at scale
• Apache Kafka for payment event streaming
• PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance engineering
• EMV chip and contactless payment knowledge preferred
