Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and optimize production environments across Compute services, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. The role involves incident management, on‑call support, automation of deployments, and collaboration with development teams to maintain service SLAs.
- Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize production server hardware and software
- Provide escalated technical support for complex issues and lead problem‑management cases
- Coordinate escalated support cases with internal resources or third‑party vendors
- Assist with OS and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching
- Lead standardization projects for hardware and software under Oracle technology stack
- Provide on‑call support on a rotating basis
- Manage incident response and ensure SLA compliance
- Plan and work on-call shifts for multiple services
- Maintain high availability, release management, and zero‑downtime deployments
- Automate processes to replace manual tasks and build deployment tools
- Define innovative solution methodologies for infrastructure, cloud migration, and deployment operations at scale
- Resolve complex issues requiring code knowledge in collaboration with service teams
- Keep documentation up to date and improve ticket turnaround times
- Ensure production security posture and robust monitoring
- Perform change management and root cause analysis
- 5+ years overall experience in the IT industry
- Minimum 4 years as a Sys Admin/Support
- Strong systems architecture skills
- Strong Linux administration experience
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Proficient in scripting languages: Python, Bash, Shell (basic Java/Go knowledge)
- Knowledge of networking, cloud computing, and load balancers
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Elastic
- Experience with system configuration tools: Chef, Terraform, Git, Jenkins/Hudson, Artifactory
- CI/CD experience with Docker and Kubernetes
