Data Scientist – Recommendations

Flipkart's AI/ML team is hiring a Data Scientist to build and improve product recommendation and personalisation models that influence billions of rupees in monthly Gross Merchandise Value.

You will work with petabyte-scale datasets, run rigorous A/B experiments, and collaborate with engineers to deploy models that directly affect the shopping experience of 400M+ customers.

• Build and iterate on product recommendation and ranking models
• Design and analyse large-scale A/B experiments
• Develop data pipelines for feature engineering
• Present insights and model results to product stakeholders
• Improve model monitoring and retraining workflows
• Collaborate with data engineers on platform improvements

• 3–5 years data science or ML experience
• Strong Python: pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM
• Proficiency in SQL and Apache Spark
• Experience with recommendation systems or ranking models
• A/B testing and statistical hypothesis testing
• Model deployment with MLflow or similar
• M.Tech or PhD in Statistics, CS, or Mathematics preferred
