Data Engineer - Snowflakes/AWS

Sigma-Aldrich Chemicals Private Limited is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable data ingestion and transformation workflows.

You will work on advanced data pipelines, cloud data warehousing, performance optimization, and governance frameworks using modern tooling to empower our global science and technology initiatives.

• Design, build, and deploy scalable data ingestion and transformation workflows
• Write, tune, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and Snowflake virtual warehouses
• Design dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)
• Implement version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and dbt integrations
• Ensure role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, encryption, and compliance best practices

• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or cloud data warehousing
• Expert-level SQL and strong Python (Pandas, NumPy) skills
• Deep knowledge of Snowflake features including virtual warehouses, clustering, Streams & Tasks, and Snowpipe
• Experience with transformation tools like dbt and cloud platforms such as AWS
