About the Role
We run JobSpri lean on purpose: EC2 servers, PostgreSQL, Redis for Celery and caching, and the frontends on Vercel. It's cheap and simple, and we'd like to keep it that way while traffic grows. That needs someone who knows Linux servers well and gets satisfaction from things quietly working.
You'd own deployments, backups, monitoring and the occasional 2 a.m. surprise. We'd rather you spend a week making something boring and reliable than a day adding a tool nobody understands.
What You'll Do
- Run and improve our servers, deploy process and database backups (and test the restores)
- Set up monitoring and alerts that wake someone only when it matters
- Keep cloud costs sensible and explain them in a monthly one-pager
- Harden security: patching, secrets, access, and the basics done properly
- Write runbooks so anyone on the team can handle a common incident
What You'll Need
- 3+ years running Linux servers in production
- Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM)
- You've debugged a slow or failing service from logs and metrics, under pressure
- Comfortable scripting in Bash or Python
- Nice to have: PostgreSQL administration, Nginx tuning, or experience with SES email delivery
